Hourly pricing
Affordable wedding photography, priced by the hour
Affordable here does not mean a cheaper photographer. It means paying for the hours your wedding actually needs rather than a package built around a fourteen-hour day. Coverage is priced by the hour from £80 per hour, with discounts as the session gets longer.

How it works
Decide the hours, multiply, and you have the figure
Sketch the day: when you want the photographer to arrive, and the last thing you want photographed. A civil ceremony with a walk afterwards might be three hours. Ceremony to first dance might be eight. Getting ready to the dance floor might be ten or more. Apply the hourly rate, and the longer sessions come with a discount.
Mikayla confirms the hours she thinks the day needs and the exact figure in writing before anything is booked, and she will tell you if she thinks you have over- or under-estimated.

What you still get
The same photography, whatever the hours
A shorter booking is not a lesser one. Mikayla still arrives early, still photographs the venue before it fills up, still gives clear direction for the groups, and still delivers previews followed by every finished photograph within one to two weeks, as a digital folder and on a USB drive.
Where the budget is genuinely tight, shorter coverage around the ceremony is usually the better answer than a cheaper photographer for the whole day.

Questions
Common questions
Is there a minimum number of hours?
No fixed minimum. Tell Mikayla the shape of your day and she will suggest the hours that make sense.
How does the discount for longer sessions work?
The hourly rate reduces as the booking gets longer, so a full day works out at a lower rate per hour than a short one. The exact figure is confirmed in writing when you enquire.
Can we add hours on the day?
Usually yes, if Mikayla is free to stay, at the agreed hourly rate. It is better to plan it beforehand so nothing is rushed.
Is a cheap wedding photographer a false economy?
Often. Editing time is where finished photographs are made or lost, and a very low full-day price usually means it is being squeezed. Fewer hours with a good photographer tends to give better pictures than more hours with a cheaper one.
