High Wycombe Register Office wedding photography

I have photographed a real civil wedding at the High Wycombe register office in the library building, so the photography on this page shows what a ceremony there actually looks like rather than relying on generic registry office images.

The ceremony

Shorter civil weddings suit flexible hourly coverage

You may want me there for arrivals, the ceremony, family photographs afterwards and some time together before you move on with the rest of the day. That can be covered properly without turning the booking into a full-day package.

Photography starts from £80 per hour, with discounts for longer bookings.

During the ceremony, I work around the registrar's instructions. Where a photographer can stand and what can be photographed is ultimately their decision on the day. That does not stop the coverage feeling complete. The reactions during the ceremony, the moments immediately afterwards and the point where everybody relaxes outside can all be stronger than a long list of formal photographs.

Groups and couple photographs

Organised quickly, then left alone

If you want group photos, I will organise them clearly. Large family groups are one of the times I am happy to be direct because it is much quicker when somebody takes control.

For couple photographs, I prefer a more natural approach. I will make sure the light and location are working, give you enough direction to get started and then let things become less posed.

Afterwards

The Rye is ten minutes away

One useful option after a High Wycombe civil ceremony is The Rye. I have photographed wedding portraits there using the woodland and surrounding landscape, which gives a very different feel from the ceremony itself without needing a formal second venue.

That works particularly well if you want a short ceremony covered but still want a varied set of photographs of the two of you afterwards.

How many hours you need depends on the rest of the day. If the register office is the main event, a few hours may be enough. If you are moving on to another reception or celebration, we can build the coverage around the timings. Send me the ceremony time and what you are doing afterwards and I can recommend what is realistically worth booking.
