A late-winter civil ceremony and a family celebration
Family in pale blue and navy, a vintage car, a civil ceremony, confetti in the wind and an evening of sparklers and dancing.

The morning was a house full of family. A memorial charm on the bouquet, a flower girl being talked into having her hair done, and a pale blue dress that took two people.

A vintage car to the ceremony, and a groom who knew exactly where to stand when the door opened.

Civil ceremonies happen in small rooms with fixed chairs. The job is to find the picture from wherever you are allowed to stand, and to stay out of the way once it starts.

Confetti in a stiff wind, which is the best kind.

Out on the open hillside, mostly walking. Then the family groups, organised quickly, while everyone still had their coats on.

The evening, photographed as it was lit. Fairy lights, a dance floor, and sparklers held far too close to a fur wrap.
